SUMMER CORE COURSES

ART 480 - Special Topics in Art: Greek Art, Architecture & Archaeology (3)
A survey of the art and archeology of Greece from the Early Bronze Age up through the Hellenistic period. Special emphasis is given to the Minoan and Mycenean civilizations, and to Archaic and Classical Athens. The course combines classwork with visits to the museums and archeological sites of Athens and Attica, with a particular view toward the ways in which art forms mirror the ideals and beliefs of the ancient Greeks.
